1: Ekadhikena Purvena


"Ekādhikena Pūrvena" (एकाधिकेन पूर्वेण) is a famous Sanskrit sutra (mathematical aphorism) from Vedic Mathematics, found in the Śulba Sūtras and later popularized by Sri Bharati Krishna Tirthaji.


Meaning :


"By one more than the previous one."
(“Eka” = one, “Adhika” = more, “Pūrva” = previous)

2: Nikhilam Sutram


Sanskrit: Nikhilam Navataścaramam Daśataḥ
Translation: All from 9 and the last from 10

This Sutra is used to perform fast multiplication, fast substractions, especially for numbers close to powers of 10 — like 10, 100, 1000, etc.
